Huron is a part of Western University in Canada, ranked in the top 2% of universities world-wide and one of Canada’s Top 10 universities by QS World Rankings. Huron at Western specializes in elite business and liberal arts education. Since our establishment in 1863, we have focused exclusively on undergraduate excellence by remaining intentionally small, to provide a personalized learning experience where students’ individual gifts and talents are recognized and nurtured. With an average class size of only 30 students, professors offer students an unprecedented level of personal attention and mentorship, while students always have quick access to one-on-one academic, professional development and career support. At Huron, you will always be a name and not a number.
Whereas many business and liberal arts programs at most universities typically have hundreds of students in a class, at Huron we are committed to remaining small in order to focus on quality over quantity. As a result, all Huron students have easy access to paid internships, professional development workshops, advanced undergraduate research opportunities, international study abroad and research opportunities across six continents as well as community-based learning projects that give you real-world insights and practical experience. Huron is also proud to offer students our partnerships and dual-degree opportunities with world-class institutions.
PREPARING STUDENTS FOR THE FUTURE
Huron delivers a liberal arts education designed for the future, equipping you with the knowledge, skills and ingenuity to succeed no matter what future changes bring. By combining courses in business with social science and arts, centered on core teachings in leadership and ethics in one of Canada’ smallest classes, we provide an educational environment that is truly unique in the Canadian undergraduate education landscape. As a result, students graduate not only as academics who are experts in their subject field, but also with the critical thinking, communication, leadership and professional skills and experience needed to actually succeed in the real world. We challenge our students to become leaders with heart, leaders who have the integrity to influence positive change in their communities and take on some of the world’s most challenging problems.
Huron’s residences offer 100% single rooms, 24 hours a day 7 days a week support staff living in residence as well as dozens of events throughout the year to help students connect with each other and establish friendships, develop their leadership abilities and enhance their academic and study skills. Students will also receive a meal plan and our Dining Hall menus include options for students of all dietary or religious needs. As part of Western University, Huron students have access to all the world-renowned facilities across the campus, including the 20,000 square foot gym, Olympic length swimming pool, over 200 student clubs and sports teams as well as multiple events throughout the year.
